Richard '66 and Nancy Kinder annouce a $15 million gift to endow the Kinder Institute for Urban Research, which expands the Houston Area Survey inaugurated by Professor Stephen Klineberg in May 1982 to include major urban areas world-wide. The Institute incorporates faculty from the Schools of Social Science and Humanities and examines issues related to race, religion and urban life. Rich Kinder chairs a 9-person advisory board headed by Nancy Kinder as president.
