Rice students form the 2nd U.S. chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB). Students remain avidly committed to the program’s mission and conduct ongoing projects in El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.  Complementary programs at the university, such as Beyond Traditional Borders and the Rice 360°: Institute for Global Health Technologies, extend students’ outreach to Africa and Asia and provide even more opportunities for students to solve global challenges in sustainable and culturally appropriate ways.

In 2010, founder of EWB Bernard Amadei presents a President's Lecture at Rice.
