Cambridge Seven Associates and RWS Architects design the George R. Brown Hall for Biosciences and Bioengineering, named for the former chairman of the Board of Trustees at Rice.
Ricardo Bofill/Taller de Arquitectura and Kendall/Heaton Associates design the Alice Pratt Brown Hall, built to house the Shepherd School of Music and named for George R. Brown's wife, a local philanthropist and arts patron. Approximately 70,000 Houstonians regularly attend concerts and recitals by students and faculty each year.
